HOMEOPATHY: A gentle way to better health
Homeopathy for Pregnancy & Childbirth
This is a very positive time in a woman’s life when many women feel very relaxed and well. However there can be situations where homeopathy can help e.g. nausea, pain, anxiety; soreness after the birth.
It is advisable to have constitutional treatment before conception or at the start of the pregnancy to ensure you are in the best of health.
Here are brief descriptions of some remedies that could be helpful but it is always better to seek help from a homeopath if you are unsure which remedy to use.
Sepia is a very good remedy at times of hormonal change like menstruation, pregnancy and the menopause. Sepia can alleviate pregnancy nausea and sickness accompanied by indigestion and flatulence. The woman feels nauseous at the thought of food. Regular eating and rest help to reduce vomiting.
Ipecac is another remedy for constant queasiness not relieved by vomiting.
Caulophylum can be used with care after the due date has passed to stimulate the onset of labour. It can also be used for a difficult labour when the cervix is slow to dilate or the contractions stop.
Arnica for soreness and bruising after the birth.
